FULL SERVICE PROJECTS
We'll discuss your project, budget, and review our standard fees and rates for various services. Once we agree to work on the project together, we will then set up a site visit.
I visit your space to identify your style and wish lists. We look through existing pieces you would like to incorporate into the new space, and discuss general concepts and colors. Photos and measurements are taken at this initial meeting.
For new construction, we prefer to get in on the ground level. It is better to coordinate various details with the contractor and architect before construction begins to avoid having to add or delete something further in the process. To that end, review of any blueprints and plans there may be also takes place at this Initial Consultation Visit.
DESIGN CONCEPT REVIEW AND APPROVAL
I present you with a full design plan, which includes floorplans, paint colors, lighting, furnishings and additional recommendations. We then review any changes or adjustments you may have. At the completion of this phase, you will have a final design concept.
BONES AND KEY ELEMENTS
This is when we gather all of the elements together for the space. Since decorating is very much a layering process, we begin with the structure, what I like to call the bones. Contractors, electricians and painters, are scheduled, any mirror, glass or stone is ordered, as well as key furnishings.
This is when I get busy working on what I call, the "dressings." Here are two of my happy words - fabric selection. We finalize drapery and window dressings, pick bed linens, coordinate throw pillows and blankets, rugs, and art.
INSTALLATION AND ACCESSORIZING
The final layer is the accessories. They are the special treasures that make it personal, and complete the vision.
